Billie “Bill” Eugene McDaniel, 94, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 31, 2023.
Bill was born on February 28, 1929, in Kennett, Missouri. He retired from Robins Air Force Base as an Inventory Maintenance Supervisor after 38 years. He was a veteran in the United States Navy where he served in the Korean conflict. He was a former music director for several churches around Warner Robins. At the time of his death, he was a member of The Bridge Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, but especially his grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and loved watching the Atlanta Braves.
His parents, Thomas and Berdie McDaniel, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 74 years, Doris McDaniel; children, Susan Martin (Richard) and Thomas Jeffrey McDaniel (Claudia); grandchildren, Matthew Martin (Jesica), Rachel Rapier (Britton), Corey McDaniel , and Tyler Martin (Morgan); great-grandchildren, Jaxon Rapier, Rhett Martin, Linkin Rapier, and Ryan Cline; sister, Jean Freeman; along with a host of other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Bill will be laid to rest in Centerville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Bill McDaniel to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
