Billie Chappell, 66, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 22, 2009.
Mrs. Chappell was born on July 20, 1943 in Gregton, Texas. She retired from the Packaging Division of Robins Air Force Base in 1976. Her love for the Lord led her to service at Community Baptist Church as Sunday School teacher, secretary and VBS director; it also extended to her local community as hairstylist at a nursing home and generally striving to meet the needs of others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan Murphy and Hazel Parker Murphy; sisters, Marjorie Barley and Thelma Louise Murphy.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of forty-seven years, Harold E. Chappell, Byron; son, Jason Chappell (Kelly), Warner Robins; daughter, Judy Wellman (Laforrest III), Kathleen; grandchildren, Katelyn and Cody Chappell, Warner Robins; brother, Butch Murphy (Lin), Kemah, Texas; brother-in-law, Charles Chappell, Greensboro; a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be given to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins GA 31088.
