Bill P. Northenor passed away peacefully while embraced by his family on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. He was 85 years old.
Bill was born in Cannelton, Indiana, on November 17, 1936. He attended Cannelton High School in Indiana, where he served as the Class President, played in All Conference Football, and scored the leading roles in several shows as a Thespian in Drama Club. He loved theatre and worked as an Actor for the renowned Dock Street Theatre in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as the Macon Little Theatre and Warner Robins Little Theatre. He also served on the Board of Directors for Theatre Macon and was an advisor for the Youth Actors’ Company (YAC).
Bill entered the United States Air Force in August of 1954 and retired on August 1, 1978. One of his career highlights was being named The Air Force Logistics Command Outstanding Airman of the Year while working as an Instructor for the AFLC Non-Commissioned Officers Academy at Robins AFB, in Georgia. After retirement, he taught Air Force Junior ROTC at Northside High School and was an Assistant Baseball Coach.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Pierce; mother, Catherine; and brothers, Jack, Thomas, and Charles.
He is survived by his sons, William “Bill” Northenor (Maureen Northenor) and Barry Thomas Northenor (Jennifer Swift Northenor); and daughters, Kathy Painton and Michele Northenor; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Gloria Dean Poore Wahl.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at The Farmhouse at McCullough Funeral Home, 417 S. Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
A graveside memorial service honoring his life will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. in the Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, GA 30114, where Bill will be laid to rest. A reception will follow at the Brookfield Country Club, 100 Willow Run, Roswell, GA 30075.
In lieu of flowers, it was Bill’s wish that donations be made to the YAC at Theatre Macon. Checks should be made out to Theatre Macon at 438 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201, and should indicate the donation is to be used solely for YAC.
