Billy J. Simmons

Billy J. Simmons, 64, died Saturday, June 22, 2002. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26 at Central Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at McCullough Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Joy in the Journey, 1647 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, GA 31093.

Mr. Simmons was born in Jeffersonville, GA, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired sales representative, having worked at Martha White and Pillsbury. A member of Central Baptist Church, he served as the Head Usher and President of Jeanette Watson’s Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alice Day Simmons, and brother, Larry Simmons.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Bernice Patterson Simmons, Warner Robins; daughter, Debbie Oakley, Beaufort, SC; son, Joey Simmons, Glendale, AZ; brothers, John Simmons, Manchester, and George Simmons, Asheboro, NC; sisters, Ann Chatham, Jacksonville, FL, and Mary Peterman, Warner Robins; brothers, Bobby Simmons, Warner Robins; Frank Simmons, Canada; Cecil Simmons, Tampa, FL; and Lonnie Simmons and Timothy Simmons, both of Perry; and one grandson, Gary.
