Billy Lewis Newberry

August 5, 1936 — May 23, 2022

Early on the morning of Monday, May 23, 2022, Billy Lewis Newberry, 85, passed away at Piedmont Macon Medical Center.

The son of the late Bill and Lois Newberry, Billy was born in Warner Robins, Georgia, on August 5, 1936. A committed entrepreneur and Master Plumber, he owned and operated Newberry Plumbing Company, a successful business that served the Middle Georgia area for over 60 years.

Later in life, Billy built his dream home on Lake Sinclair and proudly wore a hat that read, “Life is better at Newberry Lake House, Lake Sinclair, Georgia.” He had a need for speed and enjoyed cranking up the motor on his jet boat. Billy also participated in a quiet afternoon of fishing, once or twice. Always up for an adventure, he took many trips to Panama City Beach, Florida, where Billy drove his dune buggy up and down the beach. For over 20 years, Billy was an active member of the Warner Robins Jaycees, Warner Robins High School Touchdown Club, and the University of Georgia (UGA) Bulldog Motor Coach Club. He was of the Baptist faith.

Billy’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving and cherished wife of 64 years, Ann G. Newberry; children, Kristi Little (Steve), Bonni Newberry, Tod Newberry, Kasey DeFore (Kenny); grandchildren, Nelia Banks (Tyler), Kayla Sadler (Justin), Ryan Banks (Brenna), Jordan Wheeless (Amber), Trey DeFore, Ann Marie DeFore; great-grandchildren, Rheylen Quinton, Tate Sadler, Lorene Wheeless, River Harvey, Jackson Banks; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
