Billy Merritt Jones, 67, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2007.
Mr. Jones was born on April 10, 1940 in Macon, Georgia and graduated from Lanier High School in 1958. He was a member of Faith Assembly of God. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Tonkin Gulf Crisis on the destroyer USS Maddox which was the start of the major involvement of America in Vietnam and after thirty-five years he retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base. He was a former employee of Fresenius Dialysis and Tamsco but was currently employed with CDO Technology as a Technical Order Manager. He also served as a volunteer fireman for Houston County at Lake Joy and was an avid outdoorsman. His parents, Troy E. and Minnie C. Jones; brother, Troy Jones, Jr., preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Fay Jones, Kathleen; children, Brad Jones, Macon; Allison Dudley (Thomas), Warner Robins; grandchildren, Meghan, Matthew, and Kaitlyn Arnette; Emilee Dudley; brothers, Gary Jones (Gail), Warner Robins; Terry Jones (Kathy), Macon; his faithful dog, Stormy.
Visitation will be Friday, October 5, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2007, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Perry Memorial Gardens.
