Bishop Dr. Yvonne Bostic

Yvonne Bostic, 78, entered into Heaven’s gates on Sunday, June 16, 2019. Born in Constant Spring, Jamaica, Yvonne was the daughter of the late Robert Wesley Lawrence and Olga Olympia Lawrence.

Yvonne enjoyed many different hobbies including baseball and golf. She was an avid reader who loved going to the movies. Early on Yvonne answered the call to ministry and started Saint Barbara of Sardis Temple of Georgia in the basement of her home. Yvonne used her spiritual journey and gifts to evangelize and through these she spread the Good News to residents at the Golden Living Center in Georgia. She was an active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. There, Yvonne served in the Missionary Ministry, Evangelism Ministry, Ministerial Ministry, SIS Ministry and also the Church School Ministry. It satisfied her soul to follow her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for all the days of her life and now for eternity.

The family would like to give a heart-felt thank you to her mentors who walked with her down the path of righteousness. Specifically, Archbishop Dr. Ereline Simmons and Reverend Dr. Aaron Parker as well as all of the Zion Hill ministerial staff and clergy from other institutions who influenced and encouraged her through her journey.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Maria Marshall of New York, George Bostic (Barbara) of Warner Robins, Hollis Fitzgerald of New York, Hollis Cleo Bostic, Jr. of Atlanta, and Yvonne Theresa Bostic of Douglasville.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Atlanta with her funeral service following in the church at 11:00 a.m.

A second visitation will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Mrs. Bostic will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
