Bobby Samuel "Sam" Dean

Bobby Samuel "Sam" Dean, 71, died on Sunday, December 6, 2015.

Sam was born on June 1, 1944 in Franklin County, Georgia to the late Bobby and Hazel Ray Dean. He attended the University of Georgia where he received his Accounting Degree and his Masters in Accounting. Following his military career in the United States Air Force, Mr. Dean began his career as an Accounting Professor. Having received a CPA certificate, he opened a private practice at home.

Sam lived his life loving and serving God, loving his family, friends and colleagues, and for his personal belief that "you say what you mean and mean what you say." Hopefully his example of love, commitment, and integrity will be lived out in those who had the great privilege of knowing him.

Sam is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dianne Ward Dean; sons, David Samuel Dean (Amy), Michael Ward Dean, Matthew James Dean (Jennifer), and Robert Owen Dean; grandchildren, Dylan Ricks, Lillian, Madeline, and Madison Dean, Trey and Sammy Dean, and Hunter and Hayden Dean; five sisters, one brother, two sisters-in-law, and five brothers-in-law; and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterwards, Sam will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
