“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and friend, Brandon Marcus Buford. He joined his mother, Carolyn S. Buford and those who had gone before, in Heaven, on the evening of Tuesday, January 17, 2023.
Born a twin on October 27, 1988 in Macon, GA, Brandon was the loving son of Jerome Buford; brother of Brian Michael Buford and Justin Mickale Buford; uncle of Camden Amir Buford; brother-in-law of Asha H. Buford; grandson of Annie Ruth Freeman; and nephew of Sharkley and Deloris Buford, Curtis Spurgeon, Oliver and Yolanda Spurgeon, Jr. and Bill and Janice Collier. He loved his family will all of his heart and never went a day without talking to his twin brother multiple times throughout.
Brandon was a proud 2007 graduate of Warner Robins High School (GO DEMONS!) where he was honored to have been a part of the 2004 GHSA Football Championship team. He worked as a Tech 3 with Nichiha USA Co. Like his mother, Brandon enjoyed serving his community; he volunteered as a youth football coach and serving as a Kids in Our City Coordinator at Trinity United Methodist Church. It was evident that he loved working with kids and that the devotion he showed each of them was reciprocated by their respect and admiration for him.
A Leukemia survivor, Brandon was a proud honorary Chairman for Relay for Life; he utilized his experience to help others battling the disease whenever he found the opportunity. In addition, he was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Garmon Street. Brandon was an avid Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons fan, who in his free time, enjoyed bowling, watching Law & Order, cooking and spending time with friends and family. His servant’s heart and warm personality will always be remembered by everyone who knew him.
Visitation with Brandon’s family and friends will be Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Brandon’s life will immediately follow at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
