Longtime Bonaire resident Brenda Joyce Warren passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. She was 71 years old.
Known as one of the “pink ladies,” Brenda was a longtime volunteer for Houston Medical Center and also spent her time as a volunteer at Bonaire Elementary School. She had a passion for serving others and it was showcased by her caring demeanor. Brenda was always taking care of others. She was a proud homemaker who raised her son as the apple of her eye. In Brenda’s eyes, Troy could do no wrong. As a small child, Troy thought everyone in the world knew his mother as she had so many friends and couldn’t go anywhere without seeing someone she knew. Everywhere Brenda went, she found someone to talk with. She was a devoted attendee of Central Baptist Church in Warner Robins and was a prior member of Bonaire Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and helped with the children’s ministry.
One of Brenda’s favorite pastimes was to attend Cathy’s Ceramic Paint Shop in Bonaire. Every night, she would bring her son with her to the classes. She also enjoyed puzzles and her table was almost always covered with one she was working on. A faithful and loving wife, Brenda was married to Dan Warren on February 11, 1968 and the couple spent more than five decades making a life together. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 4, 1950 to the late Jack Melton Pannell and Edna Joyce Pannell. Brenda was committed to her Tennessee Volunteers, whether they won or lost. As a lifelong avid Braves fan, Brenda was thrilled to have watched her Atlanta Braves win the World Series this year. A huge Elvis Presley fan, she could also be found cutting a rug when she got the chance. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who adored her family with all that she had. Brenda was a light to everyone who knew her and will be sorely missed by her loving family.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her siblings, Paul Pannell and Patricia Pannell.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Daniel Lafayette “Dan” Warren; son, Troy Warren (Daphne); granddaughters, Madison, McKenna and Taylor Warren; grandson, Micah Davis; brother, Harold “Jim” Pannell; sisters, Mary Pannell and Debbie Pannell; and a host of beloved family and friends.
