Brian Donald Thrasher

August 15, 1992 — January 23, 2025

Brian Donald Thrasher, age 32, passed away on January 23, 2025, surrounded by friends and family after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Brian was born in the early hours of August 15th, 1992. The Braves had just celebrated a win as he was welcomed into the world. According to his dad, Brian was a fan ever since. When he wasn’t watching the Braves, Brian’s childhood years consisted of great enjoyment for the outdoors and sports along with the occasional video game at his grandparents’ homes. He cultivated skills from a young age to hunt, fish, play baseball, care for animals, and love the people around him. He cherished his time growing up with his cousins, brothers and friends, taking trips to Alabama and Kentucky, hunting wherever he could, woodworking with his dad, and of course fishing. His true passion would grow to become the love he felt for his family, friends, and the Lord.

As a young adult, Brian was always a hard worker with an abundance of determination, perseverance, intelligence, and kindness. He carried those qualities with him in all aspects of his life. In 2016, Brian received his bachelor’s degree in computer science as an honor graduate of Georgia College and State University where he also met the love of his life, Kiely Thrasher. After graduation, Brian put down roots in Warner Robins where he and Kiely have built their life for the last 7 years. He was a dedicated civil service employee with Robins Air Force Base following a long family history that started with his PawPaw, (the late) Don Thrasher.

Brian was an amazing and devoted husband to Kiely. They grew together through their 9 years as a couple, making each other better people and “loved with a love that was more than love.”

Brian surrounded himself with people that he was always eager to pour into and support. In his last days, those same people showed Brian and Kiely more love and goodness than ever imagined. Brian left this world feeling loved, cared for, and at peace with knowing his mind and body would be fully restored within the waiting arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Brian’s faith grew exponentially in the last year of his life as he faced obstacles he could never have planned. He shared God’s word and his testimony with others in a way he had never had the courage to do before. Brian’s legacy will continue in the hearts and actions of those he touched throughout his life. He will be missed beyond measure and loved eternally.

A special verse that Brian wanted all to remember comes from Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; Do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Brian is survived by his wife Kiely Thrasher; parents Pam and David Guyer, Robbie and Sherri Thrasher; brother Hunter Thrasher; stepbrothers Corey Guyer, Andy Harper, Justin (Ashley) Harper, Josh Harper, Austin Kelly, and Dakota (Brionna) Hardy ; and his beloved cats, Kitty and Scooter.

Brian is proceeded in death by his grandparents, Mary Guyer, Donald S. and Susan Thrasher, Martha Jo Bundy, Rudy Prince, and his beloved dog, Buddy.
