Bryan Osmond Stapleton, Jr., 71, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2004 in the Houston Medical Center. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, in Second Baptist Church with entombment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund, Moody Road, Warner Robins 31088.
Mr. Stapleton was born in Gainesville, Florida to the late Brian and Evelyn Stapleton. He was a loving Christian husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Second Baptist Church and the Joy Jubilee Sunday School Class; he served as the Second Baptist Church Golf League Director and on Darwin Peacocks Carpentry Crew. He served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Stapleton then served 35 years in Civil Service at Robins AFB in the Directorate of Maintenance (Quality Control) and retired as the MMMM Branch Chief in the Directorate of Materiel Management financial branch.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Margaret Stapleton, Warner Robins; son, Bryan Glen Stapleton, Cumming; daughter, Janet Phelps (Paul), Warner Robins; grandsons, Justin Bryant Phelps and Taylor Shaun Phelps (Willy), Warner Robins; granddaughter, Ashley Victoria Stapleton, Duluth; sisters, Mildred Bullett, Gainesville, FL, Marion Wilson (Denton), Cedar Key, FL; six sisters-in-law; one brother in-law; several nieces and nephews.
