Calvin Louis Hurd , 75, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2007.
Col. Hurd was born on February 10, 1932 in Farmdale, Ohio. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel for the United States Air Force having served with honor for thirty-four years. During his career he served in the Vietnam War as a radar navigator on B-52 bombers and received many distinguised medals during this time. He retired as Commander of Maintenance and lived in Warner Robins since 1984. Col. Hurd was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Connie Hurd of Warner Robins; children, Debra Keen of Conyers, Georgia; Donna Patrick of Glendale, California; Diana (Bruce) D’Arminio of Wichita Falls, Texas and Gary Hurd of Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughter, April (Kyle) Jacobs and three great grandchildren, Kaitlin, Chase and Hailey; siblings, Sue Wilde, Bobby Hunt and Melvin Hunt.
Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, November 1, 2007 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Andersonville National Cemetery, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Carl Vinson V.A. Hospital in Dublin, Georgia.
