Jack Rooney, 77, entered into rest on Monday, December 10, 2012.
Jack was born on March 11, 1935 in Charlestown, Massachusetts to the late John T. Rooney and Teresa Collins Pollack. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for four years and went on to join the United States Air Force from which he retired as Captain in Warner Robins. Jack was of the Catholic faith. In addition to his parents, his beloved stepfather who raised him, Philip Pollack, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Sharon Odom Rooney, Centerville; sons, John Rooney, Atlanta, Georgia and Paul Mercer (Jessica), Warner Robins; grandchildren, Stephanie Rooney, Arlington, Virginia, and Brennan and Brandon Mercer, both of Warner Robins; siblings, Robert Rooney, Charlestown, Massachusetts, Philip Pollack (Rosa), Sugarland, Texas, Eleanor Santosuosso, Charlestown, Massachusetts, and William Pollack, Stoneham, Massachusetts; and brothers-in-law, Charles Odom, Warner Robins and Stan Odom (Annquinette), Eatonton, Georgia.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the home of John T. "Jack" Rooney. Contact McCullough Funeral Home for the address. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2013 in Andersonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests donations be made to the COPD Foundation, 2937 SW 27th Ave, Suite 302, Miami, FL, 33133.
