Capt Marvin Franklin "Frank" Forrester, Usaf (Ret.)

Franklin Forrester, 87, entered into rest on Friday, October 30, 2015.

Franklin was born to the late Marvin and Lillian Forrester on November 4, 1927 in Lanett, Alabama. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Army and Air Force from 1945 to 1953. In addition, he was a teacher at Ocala High School in Florida till 1956. Franklin then moved to Warner Robins and later retired from the Department of Air Force at Robins Air Force Base, as a civilian employee, after thirty years working as a Cost Accountant. Franklin received his Masters of Education from Auburn University in 1951. A family man, he enjoyed reading, music, movies and sports. Known as "Fireball Forrester," he spent time playing semi-pro baseball for the Kingsport Cherokees and signed with the Atlanta Crackers.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty-four years, Doris Herring Forrester; children, Linda Forrester Harris (John) of Woodstock, Brenda Diane Budkoski (Jeff) of Johns Creek, Richard Wayne Forrester (Cheryl) of Acworth and Ronald Franklin Forrester of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jacob Neil Budkoski, Ashley Marie Forrester and Rachel Lee Forrester; great grandson, Bryson Forrester; Brother in law, James Edward Herring (Nancy) of Claymont, Florida and Cousin, Nancy Kay Tantush (Hakeem) of Columbus.

Visitation will be Monday, November 2, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in Pinewood Cemetery in West Point, Georgia with military honors.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with Mr. Forrester's arrangements.
