Captain George Thomas Starr, Usaf (Ret.)

May 3, 1938 — June 12, 2023

George Thomas Starr passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 12. He was 85 years old.

George served in the US Air Force for 21 years, and retired in 1978. After his military career, he worked as Vice President & Director of Information Systems with Stuckey’s, as Director of Management Information Systems for Houston Healthcare, and later as Director of Technical Infrastructure for Integris Healthcare in Oklahoma City. He retired in 1995 and enjoyed spending time in his yard and traveling with his wife Donna on many antiquing trips.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Madelyn States Starr and John Hamilton Starr, and two brothers, William Starr and Dennis Davis, all of Pennsylvania.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna Hill Starr of Warner Robins, sister-in-law Carol Starr of McConnellstown, PA; three nephews- David Cobb (Joyce) of Dothan, AL; Chris Cobb (Amy) of Panama City, FL, and Tim Starr of Pennsylvania; niece Renee Cekot of Panama City, FL, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Though George saw much success in both his military and civilian careers, his true mission in life began when he became a believer in Jesus Christ at the age of 41. George taught Sunday School, worked with youth groups, and served in many other capacities in the church over the years. George loved the Lord and loved people. He sought to truly listen and understand others and treated everyone he met with great respect and kindness.
