Carl, loving son, brother, and uncle passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 11th.
Carl was born in Americus, Georgia, on September 19, 1953, to the late Evelyne and Joseph Paul Christie, Sr.
He was a dedicated member of Central Baptist Church for many years and treasured his time as an usher. In his younger years, Carl was a passionate competitor in the Special Olympics, participating in swimming, diving, and bowling. He also attended the 1987 National Special Olympics Games in South Bend, Indiana. Carl was a longtime member of the Happy Hour Service Center and participated in their retirement center as he got older.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Paul “Chris” Christie, Jr., and Arthur P. Christie, Sr.
Carl is survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Christie; niece, Amy Floyd (James); nephew, Pierce Christie (Danielle); great nephews and nieces, Aden and Aaron Floyd and Amelia and Addison Christie, all of Warner Robins; uncle, Ted Christie; and a number of adoring relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following in the chapel. Afterward, Carl will be laid to rest in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
