Carl J. Tesavis, Sr., 83, went to be with his Lord, July 18, 2014, at the Pallative Care Center of MCMG. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Carl and Stella (Zutowt) Tesavis, and his four sisters, Irene Sinkevich, Virginia Battle, Carolyn Kassawan and Stella Struzik. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on October 23, 1930. After graduating from Cranston High School, he went on to serve an apprenticeship at Brown and Sharpe as a Pattern Maker. He was called to active duty in the United States Marine Corps from 1950-1952. He went on to work for Chevrolet Motor Plant Foundary in Tonawanda, New York. In retirement, with his wife Mildred, he enjoyed many years of golfing, fishing and being with family.
His memory will forever by treasured by his loving wife of 60 years, Mildred C. Tesavis; his daughter, Carleen S. Turner, Massachusetts; his son, Carl J. (Kathleen) Tesavis, Jr., New York; his five grandchildren, Aaron (Stacey) Tesavis, Rachael (Stephen) Lindsay, Sarah (Richard) Schumacher, Adam (Nicole) Tesavis and Harrison Turner; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in Rochester, New York early August, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 1120, G Street, NW, Suite 700, Washington, D. C., 20005.
