Carla Rae Flowers, a cherished wife, mother, sister and friend, entered into rest on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at the age of 60. Born on July 28, 1963, in Madison, Wisconsin, Carla was the daughter of the late Lois N. Walden McKnight.
Carla’s formative years were spent in Madison, where she attended Madison West High School and later, Colorado College. She was a proud military wife for 25 years; and a 12-year manager at Wal-Mart.
Carla’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carla was preceded in death by her mother, Lois N. McKnight; and siblings, Robert McKnight, Timothy A. McKnight, and Angela J. Ferguson.
Carla’s legacy is deeply intertwined with the lives of her loved ones. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Bernard “Reynaldo” Flowers, Jr., who shared 41 years of marriage together. In addition to her husband, Carla is survived by her beloved sons, Bernard R. Flowers, III, of Warner Robins and Stephon J. Flowers of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Aaliyah, Amari, Bernard IV, Aria, and Atlas; siblings, Patricia K. McKnight and Walter J. McKnight; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Carla Rae Flowers will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery in Madison, Wisconsin, at a later date.
