On the evening of Tuesday, October 31, 2017, Carolyn Hudson, 69, joined her Lord and Savior in heaven.
Carolyn was born on July 16, 1948 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Cliff and Juanita Copeland Wortham. She grew up in East Point, Georgia where she graduated from Lakeshore High School then continued her education at North Georgia College in Dahlonega. Three years later, in August of 1969, Carolyn married the love of her life, John W. Hudson. As a Marine wife for 20 years, she worked as a banker to help support her family as they moved to different cities with the military. However, her loving family was always her main focus and priority above all else; as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Carolyn was a hero for her family. Gardening and tending to her plants with her green thumb was her favorite pastime, she would till and tend to her large garden passionately. Carolyn had a zest for life; she loved children, animals, especially hummingbirds and her dog “Missy”, eating out, traveling, and spending time outdoors. She was a special woman and was her husband’s biggest fan.
A devout woman of Christian faith, Carlyon lived her life as a witness for her Lord. She was a faithful member of Houston Lake Baptist Church. Carolyn was a Sunday school teacher in each grade as her children grew up. Carolyn was also a true friend and was protective of her friendships.
Along with her parents, her son, Chad C. Hudson, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of 48 years, John W. Hudson, Jr. of
Kathleen; children, Todd W. Hudson (Mary) of Gray; Sara Jones (J.D.) of Perry; grandchildren, Josh Hudson, Gracie Hudson; Faith Hudson; Elysa Jones; Sheila Jones; siblings, Larry Wortham of Newnan; Curtis Wortham of Lawrenceville; Sandra Dominy of Acworth, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, November 3, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough. After the service, Carolyn will be laid to rest in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
