Carrie Lee Pauley, 88, entered into eternal rest January 22, 2011 at Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry after an extended illness. Mrs. Pauley, daughter of Willard and Charlotte Bell McCallister, was born July 23, 1922 in Sod, West Virginia, and is preceded by six brothers, six sisters, and her loving husband of fifty years, Cleston Hayes Pauley. Born in West Virginia, they moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after the birth of their special son, Charles. They lived there for forty years before moving to the Centerville/Warner Robins, Georgia area.
Mrs. Pauley is survived by many loving and caring family members: her children, Kathryn Lee Pauley Shiplett, Charles Hayes Pauley and Karen Faith Pauley Cole; her son in law, Donald Lee Cole, her grandchildren, Kandia (Jim) Murray, Carrie Viles Shiplett, Karen (Tim) Putman, Patrick (Dani) Cole, Kimberly (Dean) Drewery, Charles (Misty) Cole, Kathryn (Kevin) Sullivan; her great grandchildren, Cleston Lee Murray, Hayley Viles, McKayla Shiplett, Cara-Lee Viles, Steven Carter, Grace Putman, Emilee-Faith Shiplett, Sydney Murray, DJ Williams, Annabelle Putman, Walker Viles, Julie Cole, Rylee Cole; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Pauley was a devout Christian and taught Sunday/Bible School for sixty years. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord and caring for her family. Mrs. Pauley treasured her church families from Cobbs Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Sod, West Virginia: Twin Lakes Baptist Church, Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Westside Baptist Church, Centerville, Georgia. She also loved her caregivers, Leah, Mrs. Brenda, Sheree, and Mrs. Frieda.
Visitation for Mrs. Carrie Lee Pauley will be Monday, January 24, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robins, Georgia. Interment will be in Sod, West Virginia. Flowers may be sent to Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, West Virginia, 25003. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Heart of Georgia Inpatient Hospice, 1120 Morningside Drive, Perry, Georgia 31069 or to Happy Hour, (in honor of Charles Pauley) 716 Young Avenue, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093.
