Cecile Marie Duhon Knowles

Cecile Marie Knowles, born August 10, 1924 in Lafayette, Louisiana has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She has joined her beloved husband, Brigadier General Billy M. Knowles, Sr., USAF (Ret). Mrs. Knowles passed away on Friday, February 3, 2006 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2006 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 7 until 9 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.

Mrs. Knowles was an active member of the Jaycettes, Mothers of The March of Dimes, The American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. A graduate of Southwestern Louisiana College in Lafayette, LA, she worked as an office administrator for the superintendent of Southern Pacific Railroad. She was of the Catholic faith. In addition to her late husband, her parents, Felix Paul Duhon and Agalise Marie Walters, her brother, Stanley Duhon and her granddaughter, Christi A. McLaughlin preceded her in death.

Survivors include her beloved children, Melanie Webb, Shellmans Bluff; Shelley Musser, Warner Robins; Billy Mack Knowles, Jr., Valrico, FL; Susan McLaughlin, Vacaville, California; Christi Knowles, Marietta; thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved by all who knew her for her grace and generosity.
