On the morning of Monday, April 23, 2018, Charles Hickman, 91, joined his beloved wife of 62 years, Mary Margie Hickman in heaven.
Charles was born in Thomaston, Georgia on January 15, 1927 to the late Edward W. Hickman and Clemmie Rogers Hickman. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II as a Naval Aviation Radioman. Charles also owned and operate Hickman Communication and Hickman Oil Company for many years. He served on the Board of Tax assessors and was the past president of the Chamber of Commerce, Warner Robins Rotary and W.R.I.N.G.
In addition to his parents he’s preceded by great-grandchildren Ethan, Connor, and Samantha Christmas.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Allen Hickman (Pat) of Warner Robins, Vicki Smith (Dannie) of Thomaston, and Mark Hickman (Kathy) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Scott Hickman, Wendi Williams (Chip), Cathy Christmas (Sam), Emily Kell (Shaun), Amanda Smith (Liz), Ryan Hickman (Kim), and Justin Hickman; great-grandchildren, Luke, Josh, Eleanor, Marianne, Rhett, Samuel Dannie and Cate Christmas ; and several adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.
A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in Thomaston, GA.
McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Hickman's arrangements.
