Charles C. Edwards, 94, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 15, 2011.
Mr. Edwards was born on January 10, 1917 in Pembroke, Georgia. With pride and honor he served in the United States Marines. He attended a Bible college and also started a Baptist church in Greenbelt, Maryland, where he served as a preacher. A civil servant employee, Mr. Edwards worked in Washington D.C. His loving wife of sixty five years, Josephine Irvine Edwards and parents, George M. Edwards and Mildred Harvey Edwards, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children and their spouses, Pam and Tuck Adams; Sheila and Terry Steinborn; Byron and Vivian Edwards; Melissa and David Plaisted; Lorna and Ron Teal; and Moyra and Lee Knight; grandchildren, Russell Davis, Randall Davis, Karen Ford, Myryea Ivey, Rion Edwards, Aaron Plaisted, Matthew Plaisted, Amanda P. McGaughey, Ron Teal, Jr. and Len Wittfeld and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Black Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, in Pembroke, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to: Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
