In the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 20, 2016, Charles Kuder entered into eternal rest at his home. He was 71.
A native of Springfield, Illinois, Charles was born on February 14, 1945 to the late Charles Starne and Louise Barnes Kuder. He was a 1963 graduate of Springfield High School and attended the local junior college and a technical trade school before joining the United States Navy. Mr. Kuder served active duty for a year and a half aboard the U.S.S. Westchester County (LST-1167) and the U.S.S. White River (LSMR-536). He earned the National Defense Service Medal along with the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, Meritorious Unit Citation, Navy Unit Citation, and Combat Action Ribbon. Charles continued to serve his country in the U.S. Navy Reserves until he was honorably discharged in August of 1974.
In 1969, he began working for General Electric Company in Bloomington, Illinois where he met his future wife, Rosemary Ellen Sauper. They were married on December 13, 1969 and together, they raised a loving family including two daughters and one son. Charles' career moved the growing family from Bloomington, Illinois to Palatine, Illinois to Bitburg Air Force Base, Germany and finally to Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins in 1981. While in Warner Robins, he continued working with various Air Force contractors until his retirement in 2005.
Mr. Kuder was a longtime member of the Middle Georgia Apple Computer Users Group. A Microsoft Most Valued Professional, he enjoyed the challenges of trying the new Microsoft Products before their market debuts. Charles was also a charter member of the Middle Georgia Miata Club and a member of the Georgia Aircraft Modelers Association.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Orlen Kuder.
He leaves his memory behind with his loving wife of 46 years, Rosemary Ellen Kuder of Warner Robins; children, Marie Louise Keith-Winters (Robert D.) of Warner Robins, Stephanie Ann Ives (Russell M.) of Marietta, and David Edward Kuder of Warner Robins; and five grandchildren, Corwin Mark Keith, and Robert, Rebekah, Elizabeth, and William Ives.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 6th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 7th at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Reverend Craig Hutto officiating. After the service, Mr. Kuder will be laid to rest in Andersonville National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Mr. Kuder to the American Heart Association, 5962 Zebulon Rd., PMB#359, Macon, GA 31210.
