Retired USAF Staff Sergeant and retired Captain of Centerville Fire Department, Chuck Brumfield, passed into the hands of his Lord and Savior on the afternoon of Monday, August 9, 2021. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on January 9, 1939, the son of the late Charles D. and Geneva L. Downs Brumfield.
A proud 22-year USAF Vietnam Veteran, Chuck served his country with pride and honor in the United States Air Force from where he retired having attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Subsequent to his military retirement, he continued serving people, but in a local capacity. Chuck became a well-revered firefighter for the Centerville Fire Department for a number of years and retired as Captain. In his free time, he enjoyed working in the yard and following NASCAR. Friendship Baptist was Chuck’s church home.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Brumfield; his son, Tony Brumfield; and his sister, Mary Townsend.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Pat Brumfield; children, John Brumfield (Charlotte), Mike Brumfield (Shirley) and Cheryl Spillers (Don); several wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Dawn Brumfield.
He will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens with a private graveside service for his family.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Chuck to Friendship Baptist Church, 1322 Feagin Mill Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
