Charles Robert Posey

Charles Posey joined his beloved wife, Shirley Danzey Posey, in Heaven on Monday, April 18, 2016. He was 93 years old.

Born on July 12, 1922 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Charles Posey was a son of the late John Henry and Mamie Fields Posey. He was a proud World War II Veteran serving with the Army Air Corps during the war and later retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base in Quality Control.

Charles was a devout Catholic and attended St. Monica Catholic Church in Mobile, Alabama for many years. He enjoyed being a member of several bowling leagues until the age of 90, loved gardening, and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and University of Alabama. Charles' love, compassion, and friendship will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife and parents, Charles was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Edward Posey.

He leaves his memory behind with his loving daughter, Deborah Posey Knight (Terry) of Warner Robins; daughter-in-law, Heather Posey of Foley, Alabama; grandchildren, Michelle Kinnear Davis, Crystal Knight Peterson, Leila Knight Parkerson, Billy Harrison, Dayna Posey Smith, and Eva Posey Stollar; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of other adoring friends and relatives.

Visitation will be Friday, April 22nd from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23rd in Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile, Alabama where Mr. Posey will be laid to rest.
