Charles "Charlie" Wheeler, 72, entered into rest on Sunday, February 13, 2011.
Mr. Wheeler was born on September 19, 1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was of the Baptist faith. Charlie was a proud veteran, retiring from the United States Army, and serving during the Vietnam era at two separate deployments. His parents, William Wheeler and Thelma Morgan Wheeler, and brothers, Albert Wheeler, Robert Wheeler, and Bill Wheeler, all preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife, Frances E. Wheeler; son, Charles V. Wheeler, Jr. and his wife, Alison, all of Kathleen; grandchildren, Seth Wheeler, Zachary Wheeler, Rebekah Wheeler, Sarah Wheeler; siblings, Theodore (Patricia) Wheeler, Mary Smith, and Claire Cioffi, all of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services with full military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2011, in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Reverend Fred McCoy and Pastor Ed Siddle will officiate. Mrs. Wheeler and family will receive visitors at her home following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Houston Lake Baptist Church, 2300 Highway 127 East, Perry, Georgia 31069.
