Charlie E. Parrish

Charlie E. Parrish, 88, walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 9, 2015.

Charlie was born on October 17, 1926 in McRae, Georgia to the late Frank H. and Leila Belle Harrelson Parrish. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army Air Corps. In 1961, he and his family moved to Warner Robins where he retired from the construction industry after 20 years. Charlie wore many hats in his lifetime, and besides serving in the military and working construction, he was an insurance agent for several years and was also in grocery retail for 16 years. First Presbyterian Warner Robins was his church home. Charlie lived a life full of family, friends, love and God, and will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Mary, Lilly, Ralph, Joe, and Lloyd; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

Charlie's memory will forever be treasured by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Emily Parrish of Warner Robins; sons, Edward Lee Parrish of Warner Robins, Anthony Craig Parrish of Douglasville, and Kevin Dwayne Parrish of Warner Robins; daughter, Deborah Parrish Cook of Albany; eight grandchildren; two great-grandsons; one great-great granddaughter; sisters, Anne Harrelson of Greensboro, North Carolina, Velma Parker of Forsyth, and Doris Kasun of Savannah; and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 12, 2015, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with entombment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum. Pastor Paula Hoffman will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Charlie Parrish to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210 or to your favorite charity.
