Charlie T. Collins, affectionately known as “Bo” by family and friends, 75, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2007.
Mr. Collins was born on May 13, 1931 in Crawford County, Georgia. He attended Bonaire, Perry and Byron schools and was a 1949 graduate of Pinehurst High School. The epitome of a true Christian spirit, he founded and established Emmanuel Baptist Church, Grace Baptist Church, and Liberty Baptist Church, all in Warner Robins. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. With loyalty and honor, he served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Bo retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base where he worked in foreign military sales. His parents, Buford and Lena Arnold Collins, and siblings, Mabel Rowland, Raymond Collins, B.H. Collins, Jr., Tom Collins, Herman Collins, Sara Johnson, and Elouise Floyd, all preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife, Helen Collins, Bonaire; children, Linda Tillman (Bob), Byron; Charlie T. Collins, Jr. (Joyce) Byron; Janet Svendsen (Andrew), Pensacola, FL; Jimmy Collins (Faith), Pinehurst; grandchildren, Rob and Wade Tillman, Amy Collins, Garrett Svendsen, Courtney and Bryn Collins, great grandchild, Ella Leigh Collins, brother, Robert Collins, and sisters, Katie Bruce, Mildred Williams, and Dorothy Turner.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to H.E.L.P.
