Chester Eugene Zolman, 89, entered into rest on Friday, July 15, 2011.
A member of Oakland Baptist Church, Mr. Zolman, born September 29, 1921 in Danville, Illinois, was a Master Mason and Shriner. With great pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army and served during World War II. He later retired after fourteen years of employment at Houston Medical Center as the Director of Food Services. An avid golfer, he was heads ground keeper at Houston Lake Country Club, and enjoyed bowling and reading. His daughter, Elinor Zolman; and parents, Chester Elvin Zolman and Elberta Irene Birks Zolman, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his beloved wife of fifty-five years, Mildred Luella Garlinghouse Zolman; step-son, James Monbarren (Sandy), East Bethel, Minnesota, and William Monbarren (Sheri), Fontana, California; brother, Donn Zolman (Donna), Ramer, Alabama; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Monday, July 18, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Oakland Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2011 at Oakland Baptist Church, with interment following at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations to Oakland Baptist Church, 1509 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins GA 31088.
