Chief Warrant Officer (CW-3) Curtis Minix, 83, entered into rest on Monday, September 22, 2014.
Curtis was born on August 20, 1931 in Douglas, Georgia. He attended Fellowship Evangelistic Church. Curtis proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring after twenty-seven years with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (CW-3). After retiring from the Army he started traveling as an Auctioneer and was a member of the Hall of Fame of the Auctioneer Association. Curtis had a passion for horses. He was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
His parents, Emmitt and Mattie Stevens Minix; brother, Eugene Minix; and sister, Delores Waldron, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of thirty-four years, Joyce Minix of Lizella; son, Mike Minix (Debbie) of Lizella; daughter, Beverly Minix of Byron; step-sons, J.R. and Mark Moore of Lizella; granddaughters, Shannon Halstad of Macon and Melanie Harnist of Lizella; great grandchildren, Hailey Halstad, Jared Harnist, Dallas Halstad, and Hannah Mask; and sisters, Sara Cumbass (Owen) of Douglas and Betty Frier of Douglas.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 24, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 in the chapel of Magnolia Park Mausoleum with entombment following with full military honors.
Flowers will be accepted or, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to donors favorite charity.
