Christine Brooks Lord Ryan

March 7, 1927 — May 8, 2024

Amelia, OH

Christine Brooks Ryan passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on May 8, 2024, at the age of 97.

Born March 7, 1927, in Tennille, Georgia, Chris lived a full and amazing life, a life full of love, laughter, pain and struggle, and through it all she held her family together, always sharing a mother’s love. Her passing was preceded by the death of her Parents, Horace and Iris Lord, her brother, J.W. Lord, her husbands, Tom Brooks, and Lee Ryan. She is also preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanne Pintarelli, stepsons, David Ryan, Geoffrey Ryan, and her life companion Glen Powell.

Christine is survived by her children, Linda Sweet of Dunstable Mass., Dottie Kennemer (Robert) of San Antonio, Tx., Terry Ryan (Sybil) of Cordele, Ga., Christine Roy (Jack) of Amelia, Ohio and stepchildren, Mickey Ryan (Gayle) of Lynchburg Va., Kristan Ryan of Savannah, Ga. Her family also included 21 Grandchildren, 39 Great Grandchildren, and 24 Great-great Grandchildren.

The life of a party, Chris (to her friends) always left an impression. Beautiful both inside and out, she loved to serve others whether by throwing a party or by cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. A lifelong member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars she often was the source for coordinating special functions and events. She loved to help and was an incredible cook and party planner. She was a business owner, manager, and coordinator. She owned several businesses during her life and was never afraid of a challenge.

She lived all over the United States from Florida, to Texas, New Jersey to Ohio she visited most of the Country. She also traveled internationally to England, Germany, Italy, even living in Greece. Chris never wanted to be unprepared. She would get up every morning, get dressed, put on her make-up, and make her bed, before leaving her bedroom. She would tell you she did this just in case someone came by and wanted to go somewhere.

Her family was always the focus. She was proud of all her children and grandchildren and took immense pleasure in talking about them and their accomplishments. She loved to be around family, spending time playing cards, dominoes or just sitting with a grandchild learning a new game on her iPad. She could never pass up going shopping, stopping at a yard sale, or going to a church function. She had way too many shoes!

She leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, determination, and hard work. Christine Brooks Ryan will be missed.
