Mrs. Burkhalter was born on March 22, 1920 in Monticello. She and her late husband of twenty-three years, Captain Samuel McGinnis Burkhalter, Jr., USAF (Ret.), moved to Warner Robins in 1959 when he was assigned to Robins Air Force Base. She was a member of All Saints' Episcopal Church since that time and served on numerous committees. She was also predeceased by her parents, Robert Lee Ozburn and Minnie Lee Cook Ozburn, and brothers, Morris, Donald and Carlton Ozburn, all of Monticello.
Treasuring her memory are her daughter, Lisa Burhalter Hall (Robin), London, United Kingdom; niece, Sandra Ozburn Corley, Forsyth; nephew, William C. Ozburn, Jr. Monticello.
Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at All Saints Episcopal Church, Father Martin J. Bagay officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to All Saints' Episcopal Church Building Fund, 1708 Watson Boulevard, Warner Robins GA 31093.
