Christopher Herman Goodman, 62, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 20, 2023

Chris was born on November 6, 1960, in Crisp County, Georgia. He grew up surrounded by his family in Sumter County. He enjoyed playing softball with his friends, going fishing, and rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a volunteer firefighter for Peach County. He married Donna in December of 1989 and together, they raised three children. He was an avid truck driver and opened C&D Trucking Company, which he and Donna ran together until he retired. During his retirement, he volunteered at Houston Healthcare. Chris was a loving brother, father, husband, and friend who will be greatly missed.

His parents, Herman T. Goodman and Jimmie Ruth (Harvey) Sanderlin, along with his brother and his wife, Ken and Maria Goodman, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Donna Goodman; children, Daniel Asbell, Regina Turner (Michael), and Wendy Ammerman (Tony); brother, Glenn Goodman (Brenda); loving niece and nephews, Angela Goodman, Bill Goodman, and Cody Dodd; he was a loving grandfather and granduncle to a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Arabi Cemetery, where Chris will be laid to rest.
