Christopher Thomas Jenkins, 24, entered into rest on Sunday, August 23, 2009.
Christopher was born on November 14, 1984, at the Houston Medical Center, Warner Robins. Christopher attended Bonaire Elementary School, Bonaire Middle School and Houston County High School. He played on the Houston County High Golf Team. He was a member of Jr. Beta and Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America and Yearbook Staff. He attended Middle Georgia College, majoring in Business Management. Christopher enjoyed golf, music, guitar and bass playing, movies, computer, games and being with his friends and family. He had plans to be of service doing something to improve the quality of life for teenagers and young adults at Emory Hospital. He was a former guitar player in the Praise Band of his church. He was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Warner Robins and attended the First Church of the Nazarene. Through the years he displayed much determination, endurance, perseverance and faith. He fought a very difficult battle with great courage and strength with kidney disease and more recently this year, lymphoma. In spite of his afflictions, he maintained high spirits and a focus on others. His strong faith and trust in God sustained him through each trial.
His memory will forever be treasured by his parents, Thomas A. Jenkins and Debbie T. Jenkins, Kathleen; sisters, Crystal J. (Jonathan K.) McKinney, Felton, Delaware, and Amber R. Jenkins, Kathleen; grandmothers, Carolyn L. Taylor, Cuthbert, Georgia, and Geraldine C. Jenkins, Kathleen; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26, 2009, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at First Church of Nazarene, Reverends David Miller and Cameron Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Georgia, 2951 Flowers Road South Atlanta GA 30341 or to the American Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - GA Chapter, 3715 Northside Pkwy. Bldg. 400 Atlanta GA 30327.
