Clarence Allen "Buddy" Hutto

December 7, 1943 — September 18, 2017

On the afternoon of Monday, September 18, 2017, Clarence “Buddy” Hutto went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven. He was 73 years old.

Buddy was born in Augusta, Georgia on December 7, 1943 to the late Thomas Edward and Katherine Hutto-Yaun. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy before he was medically discharged at the rank of Seaman. Buddy went on to attend the University of Georgia and enjoyed working as a land surveyor and CAD operator for the majority of his life.

Buddy had a great passion for agriculture and was a member of the Georgia Pecan Growers Association. He loved gardening, gathering and selling pecans, making jerky, and canning and selling dill pickles and artichokes. Everything in his yard produced something to eat, including his prosperous blueberry bushes. Baking for family, friends, and for Christ United Methodist Church, where he was a longtime member, was also something that brought Buddy great joy. His endearing personality and contagious smile made him well-known everywhere he went. Buddy will be deeply missed by all.

He leaves his memory behind with his loving wife of 15 years, June Fordham Brantley of Warner Robins; son, Clint Hutto (Kaitlyn) of Gray; grandsons, Alston Hutto and Brannon Tanner; step-grandson, Brayden Aaron; brothers, Donald Yaun (Denise) of Marietta, Ronald Yaun (Cindy) of Macon, Curtis Yaun of Greensboro; sister, Charlene Mahr of Edgewater, Florida; and many adoring nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating Buddy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23rd in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Matt Stewart officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Clarence Hutto to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Hutto’s arrangements.
