Clarence Williams, Jr., 73, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 27, 2016.
Clarence was born on April 13, 1943 in Dublin, Georgia. As a young man, he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia and became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Upon graduation, he attended Atlanta University to pursue his Master's Degree and while he was enrolled, he was drafted and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his active duty service, Clarence returned to Atlanta University and obtained his Master's Degree in Sociology. Clarence worked for the USDA-Cooperative Extension Service for thirty-one years before retiring as a State Program Leader for Community Development. His love for service to others continued at CAL Management as a Case Manager in Macon, Georgia where he recently retired after ten years. He was an outgoing man who loved to be outdoors. He especially enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing tennis. Clarence was an avid sports fan and a grill master who could be found on any given weekend grilling and watching his favorite sports teams.
His parents, Clarence, Sr. and Bessie Williams, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 47 years, Trelley M. Williams of Warner Robins, Georgia; children, Chanda Williams of Bonaire, Georgia; Clarence Williams, III (Erikka) Bonaire, Georgia; Candiss O. Williams of Lincoln, Nebraska; Chansi Coleman (Rontavius) of McDonough, Georgia; grandchildren, Chance Coleman; Charleigh Williams; Cadance Coleman; Clarence Williams, IV; sisters, Vedelle Williams of Savannah, Georgia; Jacqueline W. Myles (George), Del Ray Beach, Florida; Marsha Simmons (James) of Midway, Georgia, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 at McCullough Funeral Home followed by a visitation with Clarence's family. A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Following the Mass, Clarence will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
