Claude Jean Wortham, Sr.

Claude Jean Wortham, Sr., 84, died Saturday, September 28, 2002 in Brooke, Virginia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 1 at the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Fort Valley, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Monday evening at McCullough Funeral Home.

Mr. Wortham was born in Marshallville, GA. He had been employed as a salesman for Liberty National Life Insurance. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Warner Robins and the Jesse Cheek Sunday School Class. His wife, Mary Bartlett Wortham and parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include his sons, Claude J. (CJ) Wortham, Jr., Brooke, VA and Gene Adams, III, Eatonton, GA; brother, Alvin Wortham, Memphis, TN; sister, Christine Alexander, West Jefferson, OH; 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.
