Clay Mintz, 51, walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.
Clay was born in in Aiken, South Carolina on May 3, 1965 and was of the Baptist faith. He was a proud Navy Veteran and millwright by trade working with Southeastern Carpenters and Millwrights. Very mechanically inclined, Clay enjoyed working on engines, math, chemistry experiments, and polishing stones. He also loved to cook (especially on the grill), and was a member of Moose Lodge #1688.
In 1988, Clay was preceded in death by his father, Ross M. Mintz.
He leaves his memory behind with his loving and devoted mother, Charlene M. Whitley of Byron; sister, Lisa Reneé Heurter (Greg) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Mitchell Cory Mintz of Byron; niece and nephew, Jennifer Harper and James Heurter, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 2nd in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Following the service, Clay will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Clay Mintz to the Appalachian Ministry c/o Friendship Baptist Church, 1322 Feagin Mill Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088.
