CMSgt. Don Wilson Hamilton, 69, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009, from lung disease.
He was born in Barterville, Kentucky, on March 3, 1940, the second of eleven children. With great pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Air Force for thirty-one years, was a decorated veteran of many wars, and was a founding member of the AMMO Chiefs Association. He was married to his wife, the former Grace Foulds of Romford, Essex, England, for forty-four years. They have three children, Denise D'Amore of Dade City, Florida; Gary Hamilton of Baldwinsville, New York, and Debbie Miller of Kathleen, Georgia. They also have eleven grandchildren and one great grand-daughter. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Gilbert D'Amore officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the Don Hamilton Memorial Fund has been set up to be used for the welfare needs of AMMO Airmen. Donations may be made to the AMMO Chiefs Association (marked for Don Hamilton Memorial Fund), and sent to ACA Secretary, 6046 SW 98 Loop, Ocala FL 34476.
