On the morning of Thursday, September 27, 2018, Dwight Anderson passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family. He was 88 years old.
Dwight was born in Grampian, Pennsylvania to the late George E. and Esther Wood Anderson on November 8, 1929. A proud 30-year Vietnam Veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Air Force and retired with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Dwight subsequently enjoyed work as a U.S.P.S. mail carrier for 10 years. Hunting, working in the garden, fishing with his grandchildren, and spending time with his family were his favorite pastimes.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda Anderson of Warner Robins; daughters, Katherine Miller (Mark) of Irwin, Pennsylvania, Diane Anderson of Warner Robins, and Gina Edwards (Johnnie) of Macon; grandsons, Michael Miller (Nikki) and Christopher Miller; brothers, George Anderson (Betty) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and James Anderson of Clearfield, Pennsylvania; a number of nieces and nephews; and two special cousins, Sharon Peacock and Wayne Wood.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 30, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Cleghorn officiating. Afterwards, Dwight will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Dwight to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st St., Ste. 800, Miami, FL 33131.
