Gene R. Gay, 78, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
Gene was born on September 11, 1936 in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late George and Ola Eason Gay. He made his career proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force for 30 years during which he served in the Vietnam War. Gene also served as a security police officer until his retirement as a Chief Master Sergeant. He was previously involved with the NCOA and the Masons. Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Along with his parents; his son, Donnie Russell; and six siblings, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 31 years, Judy Gay of Warner Robins; children, James Russell of Jacksonville, Florida, Tammy Lanious (Dan) of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Renee Gay of Warner Robins, Gene Gay, Jr. (Kedra) of Warner Robins, Lisa Sturdivent (Howard) of Warner Robins, Tammy White of Warner Robins, George Wayne Hamlin, Jr. (Cindy) of Warner Robins; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and brother, Lenwood Gay of Wilmington, North Carolina.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with full military honors.
The family will accept flowers, however, donations may be given in Memory of Gene R. Gay to the Children's Miracle Network 858 High Street, Macon, Ga 31201.
