Robert A. ''Bob'' Gerard, 71, passed away at his residence on Sunday, December 1, 2013.
Bob was born on July 5, 1942 in White Plains, New York, the son of Nicholas and Dorothy McIntosh Gerard. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving during Desert Storm and finished out his military career with the Georgia Air National Guard. Bob served our country with a combined and notable military career of forty-two years retiring with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. Following his military retirement, he taught at Central Georgia Technical College for ten years and volunteered at the Museum of Aviation.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Dorothy W. Gerard of Kathleen; daughter, Deborah Gerard of Perry; grandson, Capt. Gordon Leroy Polston, GA ANG and wife, Maj. Jennifer R. Polston, GA ANG, and great-grandson, Jackson Leroy Polston, both of Kathleen; brothers, James and John Gerard, both of California; and many loving nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors.
