Colonel Herbert Charles "Chuck" Tygett, USAF (Ret.), 78, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2014.
Chuck Tygett was born on April 21, 1936 in Herrin, Illinois. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. Chuck graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree and earned his master's degree from Auburn University while serving in the United States Air Force. Chuck and his wife Judy first lived in Warner Robins from 1980 to 1983, where he was Director of Distribution for the Air Force Air Logistics Center at Robins Air Force Base. After proudly serving his country for 27 years, Chuck worked as a Program Manager for Lockheed Martin for several years before retiring in Warner Robins in 1992. In his free time he loved playing golf and spending time with family and friends.
His parents, Herbert Lee and Frances Kennedy Tygett preceded him in death.
Chuck is survived by his wife Judith (Judy) Tygett of Warner Robins; children, Stephen Tygett of Sugar Hill, Georgia, David Tygett of Reston, Virginia, Elizabeth Kimberly (Steve) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; grandchildren, Claire Kimberly, Caitlyn Kimberly, Patrick Tygett, and Julien Tygett.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Christ United Methodist Church. Inurnment will take place next spring in Washington, DC, in Arlington National Cemetery.
