Col. John "Jack" Cleveland Helder, 75, entered into rest on April 6, 2009.
Jack was born on January 17, 1934 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Dentistry, he proudly served in the United States Air Force, participated in the Vietnam Conflict, and eventually retired after attaining the rank of full Colonel. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Warner Robins, GA, where he served as a Deacon. His wife, Meredith Helder, and parents, John Henry Helder and Alice Cleveland Helder, preceded him in death.
A charitable man, his memory will forever be treasured by his daughters, Karla M. Helder, East Amherst, New York, and Kirsten D. Helder-Williams, San Jose, California; former wife, Glenniss M. Helder, Kingston Springs, Tennessee; and grandchildren, McKenna and Cullen Williams.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2009 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Dr. Glenn A. Gilstrap officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 303 Mary Lane, Warner Robins GA 31088.
