Jerry C. Walker, 63, entered into rest on Monday, December 14, 2009.
Visitation will be Friday, December 18, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2009, at First Assembly of God Church, Pastor Mark Merrill officiating. Interment will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
Jerry C. Walker was born on April 5, 1946, in Waycross. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves, participated in the Persian Gulf Conflict and retired after thirty years of faithful service having attained the rank of Colonel. He served as Director of Pharmacy at Robins Air Force Base Hospital for a number of years and was currently employed by the State of Georgia Drugs and Narcotics Agency. First Assembly of God was his church home where he was very active for many years. A Corvette enthusiast, he was active in the Perry Corvette Club and was a Life Member of the National Corvette Museum. In addition, he held memberships in the Military Officers of World Wars (MOWW), the Air Force Pharmacy Association and the Georgia Pharmacy Association. He was predeceased by his first wife, Illene J. Walker.
He will live in the hearts of his wife of three years, Gwen Thornton Walker, Perry; daughter, Jeri Lea Schofill (Kevin), Perry; step-daughter, Michelle Duhon (Eric), Byron; grandchildren, Jackson Schofill and Avoly Schofill; parents, Cecil L. Walker and Marie Bullock Walker, Warner Robins; brother, Tony L. Walker (Valerie), Perry; niece, Jessica Stanley (J.R.); nephew, Jonathan Walker.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Airman's Relief Fund, 78 MSS/DFF, 725 Ninth Street, Suite 100, Robins AFB GA 31098-2235.
