John Johnson passed away at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
Born on November 16, 1932, in Nahant, Massachusetts, John was the son of the late Charles Fredrick and Cecelia Riley Johnson. A Korean and Vietnam War veteran, John proudly served a total of 19 years in the United States Navy. Following his time in the military, John continued his passion for cooking and became a Chef at the Holiday Inn. His family and friends will forever treasure his memory.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Viola Grace Setter Johnson; his brothers, Charles and Peter Johnson; and brother-in-law, Edmund.
His is survived by his children, Linda Robinson of Hawkinsville; Chester Albert of Macon; Michael Rogers of Kathleen; Bonna Beasley (Don) of Kathleen; Cindy Lord (Hugh) of Jeffersonville; Colleen Wood (Ken) of Hawkinsville; sisters, Mary Collins of South Falmouth, Maine; and Esther Johnson of Nahant, Massachusetts; as well as many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Johnson will lie in repose on Friday, January 8, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Magnolia Park Cemetery with Military Honors. For friends and family unable to attend, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.
