Curtis I. Mcneal, Sr.

Curtis I. McNeal, Sr., 83, went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2009 after a long fight with health issues.

Mr. McNeal was born in 1926 in Dothan, Alabama. Growing up as a farmer first, he later helped his father at a service station until joining the Navy for a short period before changing to the Air Force, in which he retired with twenty-seven years of honorable service as a Senior Master Sergeant. A sheet metal mechanic by trade, he maintained the C-141, C-130 and H-60 helicopters for the Air Force. A Master Mason, Mr. McNeal was also a family man who showed love and support for the children he helped bring into this world. He had a love for sports, the Braves, NASCAR and golf. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and he will no longer be seen sitting on his front porch waving to all who pass.

His first son, Curtis I. McNeal, Jr. and parents, Curtis and Gertrude McNeal, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of sixty plus years, Mary G. McNeal, daughter, Mary Barbara Rouse (Joe); sons, Robert C. McNeal and Donald C. McNeal (Jana) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jana Smith, Adam and Nick McNeal, Melissa Sanders (Adam) and Bobby Archer (Hope); great-grandchildren, Aiden Archer and Charlie Sanders; sister, Hilda Pittman and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 27, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2009, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with entombment following in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
