CWO3 Arthur Duane Bosshart, United States Navy (Ret.), age 70, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, August 20, 2024. The son of the late Paul Arthur and Virginia B. Sawyers Bosshart, Arthur was born on March 25, 1954, in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Arthur's military career was distinguished and illustrious. He joined the United States Navy with a sense of purpose and quickly made a name for himself, becoming the fastest and youngest to attain the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. His exceptional leadership and commitment to excellence propelled him through the ranks, ultimately retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer. Even after his retirement from active duty, Arthur continued to contribute to his country’s defense, working with contractors at around the world.

In addition to his professional achievements, Arthur was deeply engaged in his community. He was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce and a devoted participant in the local Air Force Association. His dedication extended beyond his professional life; he had a compassionate nature and was known for his readiness to lend a hand to those in need.

Arthur found immense joy in his retirement, particularly through his love for gardening. He cherished spending time in the garden and harvesting with his grandchildren, delighting in every moment as a doting "grandpa." Even in the garden, he had a love for technology that kept him curious, engaged, and fun. Arthur also cooked what he grew, he especially enjoyed kale and spinach. A man of many talents, Arthur was musically inclined; he played the guitar and accordion.

Arthur’s legacy is one of love, service, and joy. He was a beloved husband and father. Arthur provided leadership to his two sons and built a strong foundation; his wisdom guided their lives. He was also a doting grandfather, and friend whose memory will live on through the lives he encountered. His kindness, humor, and unwavering support will be missed dearly.

In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his brother, Rex Bosshart.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife of almost 49 years, Shellie Delphia Baites Bosshart; children, Arthur D. Bosshart, II (Mindy) of Tampa, Florida, and William Bosshart (Juliana) of Lake Jackson, Texas; grandchildren, Sarai, Isaac, Elizabeth, Elena, Camila, Levi, and Abigail; brother, Carl Scholle; as well as several other beloved family members and friends.

Visitation with Arthur’s family and friends will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring Arthur’s life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, CWO3 Arthur Duane Bosshart, United States Navy (Ret.) will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
